Blogging is an art form. That’s right, it is more than just regurgitating your uncollected thoughts. Blogging has become an extremely useful skill when trying to promote a website and attract a larger market. An important thing to keep in mind when you write a blog is your content. You want your blog to be interesting while still retaining a direction and message. You also want your content to be search engine friendly on your blog and your website. One way to make your blog exist beyond your 1 second post is by instigating a conversation by asking questions. If someone takes the time to add a comment to your blog, perhaps answering a question of yours, you should take the time to respond. Comments to you blog are a good sign that people are listening. You should also add links to your blog as a way to direct people to your site or other sites that may add greater dimension to your post. Be sure that if you use keywords, which I advise you do, that do so in a thought out manner. People can tell when you are trying to just promote your own business, so the more subtle you are the better.

There are many ways you can drive traffic to your website. Rather than just give you a long, overwhelming list of things you should consider. I am going to begin by identifying some of the basic, most effective ways to online market. To start there is search engine optimization. To those unfamiliar with the term, what this means is ways to get your website picked up by major search engines with increased ranking. Search engines are a very valuable tool that successfully drive traffic to your website. You can increase your ranking on search engines in a number of ways. One ways is through pay per click, PPC. This method is as it sounds; your company pays for certain keywords and every time someone clicks on your site you are charged. Another way to drive traffic to your website is organic search engine optimization. In organic search engine optimization you do things like change the content on your website with keywords, change your website code, add tags, and so on. The two methods I mentioned target search engines through the use of keywords. To make sure you are not targeting the wrong customer, you need to identify keywords that best describe your business. Picking the wrong keywords in a sense is like trying to bat backwards, you may be trying hard but you won’t have any success.
