It was my first time going at night and it was such a different experience seeing the city all lit up opposed to having gone during the day. At one point the Empire State Building was the largest building in the world. When you are about to get into the elevator that takes you to the 68 th floor, they hand you an information sheet describing how the building was constructed. I would advise going at night because you beat all the lines, there is practically no wait to get to the top. Plus once you are up there you can easily see every view of the city you want. I went this October and it was freezing so if you do go make sure to bring a heavy jacket and warm shoes.
